Paula Cowan BSc (Hons), MSc , Diploma Postural Management, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, MCSP, Pilates Instructor
Paula qualified as a physiotherapist in 1993 and since that time has worked in a variety of hospitals throughout the Greater Glasgow, Edinburgh and Lanarkshire areas. She specialised in Neurology early on in her career and completed her advanced Bobath training. Paula has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in Acute Neurology in Glasgow where she experienced a wide variety of complex neurological conditions. During that time she completed a post grad certificate in posture management. She then went on to work as a Clinical Specialist in MS with a team in Edinburgh and completed her Masters in MS during that time. She took up her post as Clinical specialist in Neurology in Lanarkshire in 2007.
Paula also works as a counsellor having completed a diploma in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
Moira Spence BSc (Hons), MCSP
Moira graduated from Queen Margaret University College in 1998 working initially in a large general hospital. After completing two years of general rotations she moved into rehabilitation services in a community hospital. This led to an Advanced Practitioner post with a community neurological rehabilitation team giving widespread experience with a variety of neurological conditions. During this time she has completed numerous post-graduate courses which include Bobath techniques, acupuncture and Pilates. For the past two years she has been leading a community team and acting as advisor to therapists within Lanarkshire.
Lesley Cowell BSc (Hons), MCSP
Lesley qualified as a physiotherapist in 2005 from Glasgow Caledonian University. She initially worked for two years in a rotational post in a district general hospital, gaining experience in a wide variety of areas. Lesley then decided to specialise in Neurology taking a post in the community working with young adults with neurological conditions. During this time she has completed a masters module at Glasgow University focusing her project on use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation post stroke for the upper limb. She has also completed several post-graduate courses which include Bobath techniques and Pilates.
